From its birth in 1965 the Pikes Peak Philharmonic, then the Colorado Springs Community Orchestra, has nurtured high school and college students with education, rehearsals, sectionals, and most importantly, opportunities for performance. audiences. The PPP partners with local schools with a goal to cross-pollinate a variety of musical talents. Conductor Silvestri believes music is an “art that deserves to be cultivated, no matter the age of the artist; a community orchestra makes that a reality. Inclusion and development of our young musicians is important because they are the next generation of consumers and performers.”
